What Does “No-Fix-No-Fee” Mean?
This means that there is no call-out charge if I am unable to unblock the blocked drain or blocked sink.
Whose responsibility is it to unblock a drain?
As a rule of thumb, if the blockage is within the property boundary the responsibility lies with the owner. If the blockage lies outside the boundary, the water board should assume responsibility.

What is the main Cause of Blocked Drains?
Wet-wipes are certainly high on the list of causes of drain blockages. Another big contributor which is often over-looked is the shallow fall (poor design) of the drain. They should have a 1 in 40 fall. Fats, oils and grease are a big cause of blocked gullies and drains as are washing detergent from washing machines or dishwashers. Building debris like bricks and stones also find their way into drains reducing the flow or damaging drains.
What Is Drain Ace’s Advice about Using Chemicals for clearing blocked drains and sinks?
Don’t Waste your money. These very rarely work and the chemicals you buy over the counter are not strong enough.
Before I call the Drain Ace, is there anything I can try doing myself to free the blockage?
You can try using a domestic plunger for a blocked drain or toilet and if the sink is causing the problem, try removing the trap underneath the sink to see if the blockage is there using a bucket to collect any trapped water.
